Language Acquisition Department -
Home
This department is presently reorganized.
The Language acquisition group investigates processes of language acquisition and use in a broad perspective. It combines attention to both first and second languages, looking at production as well as comprehension in speakers of different ages and cultures, and at the developmental relationship between language and cognition. The focus is on morpho-syntax, semantics and discourse structure. At present, the work within the group is mainly divided among four projects:
- Information structure in language acquisition
- Categories across language and cognition
- Multimodal interaction
There are links to the projects Communication before language, and Adaptive listening.
The Language acquisition group also coordinates the European wide network project The structure of learner varieties.
