If you do not have the Dutch nationality and you want to stay in the Netherlands for a period longer than 3 months, you first have to register at the Gemeentelijke Basisadministratie (GBA) within 5 days upon your arrival in Nijmegen.

You can not just go there, you will first have to make an appointment by calling telephone number 024-3298081 or the special general gemeente number 14024.
Opening hours: Monday through Friday from 8.30 - 17.00.
To the appointment you (and family members, if applicable) will have to come personally and bring along the following documents:
- valid identification papers (passport) (for all family members, if applicable)
- legalized (with an Apostille stamp) birth certificate (for all family members, if applicable)
- legalized (with an Apostille stamp) marriage certificate (if applicable)
- copy of the tenancy agreement of your new residence address in Nijmegen
You are furthermore obliged to inform both the Gemeente (
Digitale Balie, verhuizing) and the Administation, every time you change address within or outside Nijmegen.
