Max Planck Guesthouse

The Max Planck Guesthouse is intended for national and international guests of the MPI only and for new employees of the MPI still looking for permanent housing.

Every guest can stay for a maximum of 2 months.

There are eight guest rooms, four double rooms and four single rooms, located in the Institute’s building (address: Wundtlaan 1, 6525 XD Nijmegen).

Rooms are furnished with beds, wardrobes, chests, writing desks, televisions, telephones, lockers and internet access. All have a private shower and toilet. There is a common kitchen for the rooms, with refrigerator, hot plate, dishwasher and washing machine with a dryer. The linen is changed every week. Guest rooms and facilities are cleaned daily.

If you wish to rent a guest room, please check with your host at the Institute or contact Angela Heuts (heuts@vw.mpi.nl).

Room rates:

Double rooms:

Single occupancy:        € 35 per day - € 500 per month

Double occupancy:      € 50 per day - € 700 per month

Single rooms: € 25 per day - € 400 per month

Rates include linen and cleaning.

Breakfast is not included, but can be ordered in the canteen (open daily from 8.30 am, but not in the weekends and on holidays).

Please note that smoking is absolutely prohibited in the Guesthouse!

Our Guesthouse does not have facilities to accommodate children.

Check-in time is 2 pm to 5 pm from Monday till Thursday and 2 pm to 4 pm on Friday. Check-out time is no later than 10 am. Keys can be picked up from - and should be returned to the reception desk.

Please note: arrival during weekends and on holidays is not possible without prior arrangement with your MPI host. If you will be arriving outside of the times listed above, you should speak to your host so they can organise your check-in for you.

Payments can either be made in cash during your visit or by bank transfer after your stay. We cannot accept credit cards.

Cancellation of reservations is free of charge up to 24 hours before the date of arrival. After that 100% of the room rate will be charged (this fee is charged because your reservation will have made it impossible to reserve the room for other guests).
