The paper published together with Bob Ladd on the correlation between tone languages and two brain growth and development genes, ASPM and Microcephalin, has had quite an impact in the science popularization press. Cotidianul, an important Romanian newspaper, has collected in spring 2008 popularization overviews and mid-term predictions concerning 50 fields, ranging from science to politics, and published them both as a book (5.000 de semne ale viitorului) and as articles in regular issues.
