I do research on speech act recognition in conversation from the perspective of Neuro-Pragmatics and Conversation Analysis. I am working on an Event-Related Potential (ERP) study using auditorily presented dialogues to track the time course of action recognition in utterances that are underspecified for the speech-act level of meaning.

I also contribute to the Interactional Foundations of Language project, collecting and drawing on video-recordings of natural conversation in Icelandic to study language in use.
