My research interests lie on the interactional processes through which participants negotiate, construct and reconstruct their social realities, and how grammatical and nonverbal interactional resources are deployed in the process. Specifically, I explore participants’ orientation to epistemicity and its embodiment in interactional organization and utterance formulation. I examine video-recorded Japanese conversational data using the methodology of Conversation Analysis.
