My research focuses on speech perception in different populations.

My current research is funded by a VIDI grant (from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research) for my project: "What makes a good listener? Correlates of speech comprehension ability in young and older listeners".

Within this VIDI project, I supervise the PhD project of Thordis Neger on perceptual learning (http://www.mpi.nl/people/neger-thordis/) and a PhD project on processing of conversational speech (PhD candidate to be appointed).

Additionally, I'm involved in the PhD project of Cornelia Moers (MPI, Individual Differences department, funded by the MaxNetAging Research School) and I'm involved in the INSPIRE project (http://www.ru.nl/clst/projects/speech/INSPIRE/).

On my publication list you will find papers on production and perception of fast speech (PhD thesis), on speech perception in aphasia, on aging and speech perception, and on individual differences in speech perception ability among listeners.
