My research focuses on the role of interaction in language emergence and evolution. I am particularly interested in the effects that repair has on the conventionalization, success, and efficiency of an emergent communication system. I use experimental and conversation analytic methods in my research.

I received both my MA and PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles.
