Thordis Neger
My PhD-project is part of the VIDI project "What makes a good listener? Correlates of speech comprehension ability in young and older listeners". In this project we want to lay the foundations for a new model of spoken-word recognition which accommodates performance of different kinds of listeners in different listening situations.
To reach this aim, the research question is addressed from three different angles:
1. My supervisor Esther Janse (http://www.mpi.nl/people/janse-esther/) focuses on individual differences in spoken language processing in various listening conditions.
2. In my research I explore individual differences in perceptual learning.
3. The third project aims at individual differences in the processing of conversational speech (http://www.mpi.nl/people/koch-xaver).
