My research looks at how individual cognition and interaction are related to population-level phenomena. I'm an expert in computational models of cultural evolution. I also look at how large-scale, cross-cultural statistics are used to motivate research. My first language is Welsh.

I have an MA in Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence and an MSc in the Evolution of Language from the University of Edinburgh. I wrote my PhD on evolutionary approaches to bilingualism at the Language Evolution and Computation research unit. I'm currently a Leverhulme eary career fellow at the University of Bristol, with a secondary affiliation to the MPI.

I blog about language evolution at Replicated Typo (www.replicatedtypo.com).
