Sylvia Tufvesson

My research interests include semantic typology, language and perception, expressives/ideophones, as well as language documentation and description. I'm currently under-taking fieldwork-based documentation of the central Aslian language Semai (Austroasiatic, Mon-Khmer), spoken on Peninsular Malaysia. My research is focusing on the word class of expressives and the linguistic encoding of sensory perception.
