WELCOME TO
THE MAX PLANCK INSTITUTE
Welcome to the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics!
In 2020 our Institute is celebrating its 40th Anniversary. Over the years, the Max Planck Institute in Nijmegen has experienced a number of milestones. To find out more about our history and our path to success, read our interview with founding father Pim Levelt, and view our timeline.
Our Institute, located in Nijmegen, is one of more than 80 research institutes that form part of the German Max Planck Society, and it is one of the few outside Germany. It is the only institute in the world entirely devoted to psycholinguistics – the study of how we produce and understand language, and how we acquire these skills as first or second language learners.
Thanks to the MPI's rich history and outward-looking, dynamic approach to science, it has been able to attract distinguished researchers from all over the world and develop close ties with numerous other research and educational institutions, such as the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour.
On this website, you will find everything you need to know about our Institute, departments, research groups, researchers and their publications, as well as our upcoming and past news and events.
MPI TalkLing is the official blog of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen on which our researchers talk about all aspects of language sciences. Click here to visit our blog |
