Some remarks about the COREX software that accompanied release 3 of the CGN corpus. The first thing that should strike you is the requirement of disk space COREX asks for (900 MB). This space is almost totally needed to store all the CGN annotation files. The annotation files need to be stored on your local disk because you need your CD drive free to access the audio files on CD. Release 2 of CGN together with the COREX programme did not even amount to 300 MB. Release 3 presents a huge increase of necessary storage space. We are aware that not all users can spare this amount of storage and are thinking about possible alternative storage policies, such as storing the annotations in a compressed form. If such a modification is ready you will be informed by this web-site and new versions of the COREX programme will be made available here.
