ECHO
ISLE

The
ECHO project can offer already now at its start excellent know-how,
information about formats and tools that can be offered to interested
institutions. Only those technologies will be mentioned where ECHO partners
have own experience and where it is expected that these technologies
have a considerable impact at making cultural heritage online. The ECHO
partners are interested to get more hints on other useful technology.
However, only those entries will be listed where institutions involved
in ECHO have gathered experience and can give advice. It is expected
that this list will be upgraded regularly, since other institutes will
join the network of expertise and since new technologies will become
available and applied within the ECHO project.
We distinguish
between
- know-how that partners have and offer to other institutes
and communities
- special knowledge about formats that ECHO partners
have and that they can process
- specialized schemas (XML) that have been created
by partners that are supported and
- tools that are used or were created by partners.
For every
item under formats, schemas and tools a contact address will be mentioned
and a short description is given that identifies its purpose and state.
Under tools, formats and schemas only those items will be mentioned
that have been used already. Plans what will be developed within or
without the ECHO framework will be described elsewhere on this site.
