This department has three places for interns from September 1 to June 30 each year. These internships are offered to BA or MA students who wish to gain experience in experimental psycholinguistics and/or cognitive modelling. Work done at the our department can sometimes be used to fulfill the requirements of a BA or MA course. We offer the opportunity to learn how to conduct chronometric, eye tracking, computational modelling and sometimes EEG experiments. Students are typically asked to carry out a small self-contained project (background reading, designing a study, generating materials, testing adult participants/ computational models, analyzing the results, written and oral reporting).
The duration of the internship is flexible with a minimum of 8 weeks. Unfortunately, we cannot contribute to the intern's travel or living expenses. Applicants should have some prior training in experimental psychology or machine learning (incl.: artificial intelligence, artificial neural network modelling), statistics and design, and good knowledge of English.
To apply, they should send a letter explaining why they would like to work at this department of the MPI, along with a CV and contact details for two referees to the Project Coordinator: Annelies.vanWijngaarden@mpi.nl.
Please note: At the moment, we have already selected the interns for the academic year 2019-2020, so we have closed the applications. However, you could still apply to be on the 'back-up list', in case another intern cancels.
The Max Planck Society is an equal opportunity employer.
N.B.: For internships at our other departments, please check our vacancies.
