A critique of liberal ideology from a cognitive neuroscience perspective

Abstract

Classical liberalism is based on the idea that individuals should make their own choices in full autonomy and not determined by church, state or the other. Although this ideology sounds attractive, the question is to what degree the human mind is equipped to live up to the requirements of such a world view.

I will answer this question based on research in social psychology, cognitive (neuro)science and philosophy.
