Abstract Submission MPaL 2026

Privacy policy

To submit your abstract for the Many Paths Language workshop, we ask for several pieces of information as specified in the form below. Fields marked with an * are mandatory fields that are required for the registration process. The legal basis for processing is Article 6, para. 1, lit b GDPR.

Fields not marked with an * are fields which you can complete voluntarily. By completing the voluntary fields, you give us your permission to store and process this data exclusively for the registration purpose. The legal basis for processing in these instances is Article 6, para. 1, lit. a GDPR (consent of the data subject).

We temporarily store this data on a secure server within the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics. Only employees of the Max Planck Institute who are involved in the organisation of the symposium have access to this data. Reviewers of the abstracts will receive anonymous copies of the abstracts.

We will store the data you provide until November 15th 2026. If you wish to view your personal data (in which case you will receive a copy), adjust or delete it, or limit the processing of this data, you can contact us by e-mail at privacy [at] mpi.nl. We will process your request within one month. You also have the right to object to the processing of your data if it is based on a legitimate interest.

The responsible supervisory authority is the Bayerische Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Postfach 1349, 91504 Ansbach, Germany.

In order to submit an abstract to MPaL 2026 please fill in the questions below. Your abstract should not exceed 4000 characters, including spaces. There is no need to include a reference list. The Acquisition Sketch Project is an initiative that aims at increasing knowledge about the acquisition of understudied languages The symposium will highlight a handful of sketches—some complete and others still in progress. Therefore, we encourage those working on acquisition sketches to apply for this special session.

A small number of travel awards of EUR 100 PLUS a waiver of the conference registration fee are available to offset the costs of MPaL 2026 attendance . To be eligible, you must be the first author on an abstract submitted to MPaL AND be a member of one of the groups described in the checkboxes below. Awards will be allocated on the basis of need and quality of the submission. Notifications of awards will be sent with abstract decisions.
