"Nuanced Differences in Conceptual Representations of Blind and Sighted Individuals: Evidence From Silent Gestures and Feature Listing,"
This study investigates how visual experience influences conceptual representations. Through analyses of gestural expression and feature listing tasks, the research reveals subtle yet meaningful differences in how blind and sighted individuals conceptualize the world—emphasizing the intricate role that sensory experience plays in shaping knowledge.
The goal of CAOs is to provide a unique forum for researchers with varying perspectives on Concepts, Actions, and Objects to come together to discuss their research, foster new directions, and establish collaborative opportunities. Unlike larger conferences, CAOs features a selected number of invited speakers without concurrent sessions. The workshop also includes a dedicated poster session, offering students, post-docs, and early-career researchers the opportunity to present and engage with peers and experts in the field.
