Peter Hagoort elected Fellow of the British Academy
22 July 2025
We are proud to announce that Peter Hagoort, emeritus director of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, has been elected a Fellow of the British Academy in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the humanities and social sciences.
Each year, the British Academy honours leading scholars from around the world, and in 2025, Peter joins 91 other newly elected Fellows, including 30 international scholars, for their pioneering research across a wide range of disciplines. His election acknowledges decades of groundbreaking work in the neuroscience of language and cognition, and his lasting impact on the field.
This is a well-deserved honour for Peter and a proud moment for the Institute. Congratulations!
