Prosody Cluster Group Officially Launched
On Thursday, October 2, the Prosody Cluster Group was officially launched at the Multimodal Language Department (MLD), with more than 50 researchers from universities and institutes across disciplines.
The new forum provides a dedicated space for researchers working on prosody — the rhythm, melody, and timing of speech and communication — across modalities, languages, and functions. Its shared goal is to advance the field and establish a leading international hub for prosody research.
The group will meet monthly, focusing on key topics such as the architecture and neurobiology of prosody, bringing together behavioral, computational, and brain imaging approaches.
Dr. Hatice Zora, who leads the initiative, shared:
“I’m deeply grateful for the strong interest and support from colleagues, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”
Formal details about upcoming sessions will be shared soon. In the meantime, researchers interested in joining or learning more can contact Hatice Zora at Hatice.Zora [at] mpi.nl (Hatice[dot]Zora[at]mpi[dot]nl)
