One of the most fascinating abilities of our brain is its amazing speed to segment the unbounded speech signals. A growing body of evidence shows that ongoing oscillations in auditory cortex plays an extremely important role in speech segmentation.

My PhD projects mainly focus on exploring the neural mechanisms and representations of how the combinations between hierarchical linguistic structures happened by using MEEG. Under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Martin and Prof. Dr. Antje Meyer, we will also test the role of statistical learning during speech comprehension.
