I am interested in language comprehension and its neural correlates on discourse level. During the last decade, research on language processing has shown that people simulate the semantic content of words, for example parts of the sensory motor system can become active when people are presented with action verbs like 'kick' . So far, such effects have mostly been investigated using small language units like words or sentences. In my research I try to understand which role such processes play on the level of discourse.

I am now a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania where I continue working with narrative comprehension. You can find more information about my current research at http://ccn.upenn.edu/chatterjee/ and http://storiesandthebrain.com
