Outreach activities

  • Editor and manager of Language & Cognition Field Manual resources which hosts materials on cross-cultural semantics and semantic typology. Available on More than 12,500 visitors to this site since 2010; with over 2,230 registered users, affiliations ranging from the Central Institute of Hindi in Agra to the University of Chicago, from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris to Moscow State University, and from the Research Centre for Linguistic Typology in Melbourne to the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia in Mexico City.)
  • I work with teachers to engage children in science.
    I am currently collaborating with teachers from local schools to translate findings from my field into the classroom curriculum, for which I received the received the Radboud Science Award 2015.
  • I strive to disseminate my work to the general public.
    My group was recipient of the Drongo Science Live Award 2015 for public engagement at the biggest Language Festival in the Netherlands.
    We are currently collaborating with NEMO Science Centre, Amsterdam.
    I have participated in a number of events to bring science to the public (e.g., the Cheltenham festival).
  • My work is frequently featured in the press.
