Biography

I research which role our senses play in the development of our conceptual knowledge. I do this by investigating how people who are born blind or become blind at an early age process and use language. I use mainly behavioural methods, and I'm a big fan of modern web-based experiment software, which allows my participants to take part in experiments from the comforts of their own home. You can find out more about the research we do with blind participants, and how to participate, here.

I am also a member of the organisational board of the Open Science Community Nijmegen and the local ReproducibiliTea journal club.

My publications are listed under the Publications heading. Many of these publications have open materials, which you can access through my Open Science Framework profile.

Before coming to the MPI, I completed my PhD on the structure of the bilingual mental dictionary at University College London (UCL), under the supervision of Dr Jennifer Rodd.
