Dick Schijven

I am a postdoctoral researcher and database manager in the Imaging Genomics Research Group of the Language and Genetics Department.

My current research focusses on understanding the genetic background of complex phenotypes, including handedness (hand preference) and psychiatric disorders. We study these phenotypes in the context of lateralization: structural and functional differences between the left and right sides of the brain.

Additionally, I am involved in the management of large genetic and imaging datasets that are used by researchers in the department.
