Candice Frances

I am a postdoc at the Psychology of Language department. My current research focuses on language in spoken interactions. My intention is to understand how we mark important information in conversation and how this affects the processing of that information.

I have a Ph.D. from the UPV/EHU and carried out my Ph.D. research at the BCBL under an FPI grant from the Spanish government. My previous experience includes a master's in Brain and Cognition from UPF and a BA in Psychology from New College of Florida and a research stay at Bangor University. My past research focused mainly on the various aspects of bilingualism and how the use of different languages affects cognition. My Ph.D. research focused on the effects of foreign language on learning, particularly how changing the context through emotionality, contextual diversity, and language can affect the information we incorporate and remember. If you'd like to know more about my prior work you can find information on that here
