Gabriela Garrido

I am interested in the interface between human communication, linguistics, brain sciences, and culture. During my PhD I combine fieldwork with experimental methodologies (e.g., eye-tracking and electrophysiology) and I will focus on the processing of a verb-initial language, Tzeltal (Mayan language), and its implications for human communicative interaction. I am currently investigating the time-course of anticipatory language processing in sentence comprehension with eye-tracking data collected in Tenejapa, Chiapas, Mexico.
