Great apes are the closest living relatives of humans. Therefore, studies of great ape brain variation provide an essential context for interpreting human brain evolution. In addition, great apes represent a diverse neuroethological system in terms of socioecological adaptations. This talk will explore how studies of great ape brains help us to better understand humans' place in nature.
