MPI cares about equal opportunities and diversity
The Max Planck Society and our Institute are committed to protecting its employees against all forms of discrimination. We have a policy against sexualized discrimination, harrassment and violence which outlines the Max Planck Society’s policy of handling sexualised discrimination, harassment, and violence. [pdf]
Measures
Our Institute employs researchers, students, and support staff from 24 different countries. 60% of staff members are female; 40% are male. MPI has introduced a range of measures that are designed to ensure that female and male employees have the same chances when it comes to career development and to achieving a manageable work-life balance.
Some of these measures are offered via the Max Planck Society, while others, such as career development training, are also organised here in Nijmegen by the Institute itself. For an overview of the Max Planck Society's measures and objectives about equal opportunities, please visit their page.
The Max Planck Society recently published a brochure entitled "Career in Science at Max Planck: a guide to career advancement with equal opportunities".
