How the sensitivity to auditory rhythms shapes the reading brain

In this talk, I will explain how auditory rhythmic sensitivity is key to the development of reading skills. I will argue that a deficient analysis of the rhythmic structure of speech could lead to reading difficulties via an atypical neural entrainment to prosodic and syllabic speech units. The importance of auditory rhythmic sensitivity in the early detection of reading difficulties and their remediation will also be discussed.
