Gespin 2023
Last week, the international GESPIN 2023 Conference took place at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen.

Researchers discussed the interaction between speech and gestures in evolution, acquisition, production, processing - in the brain, as well as in virtual and real interactions.

150 researchers from 19 countries participated, from Hongkong to Saudi Arabia. The GESPIN event was jointly organised by the Donders Institute and the Centre for Language Studies at Radboud University in collaboration with the Multimodal Language Department of the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics (MPI). Volunteers from other MPI departments also participated, thus making GESPIN 2023 an international, interdisciplinary event that enabled new ways of thinking about language in different modalities.
