I am a second year PhD student in the Language Development Department, working under the supervision of Christina Bergmann and Caroline Rowland. For my project, we investigate early lexical development and how it is influenced by the environment a child grows up in.
In other words, how do parental interactions, family life or technology, among other things, impact on an infant's growing vocabulary. What role do the infant's individual capabilities play?
To help answer these questions, I use parental questionnaires, observations of parent-child-interactions, and eye-tracking.
