My PhD project investigates what information children use to assign thematic roles during online language comprehension and is supervised by Evan Kidd and Rowena Garcia. Specifically, I am interested in how the morphosyntactic cues of the language children acquire together with the distributional properties of the input children hear influence the development of parsing. Using corpus analysis and eye-tracking method, I aim to better understand how statistical properties of the input and grammatical properties of the language children learn, interact during online thematic role assignment.
