First webinar on December 2nd

The first webinar is planned on December 2nd. Speakers are Asifa Majid from University of York, Uli Sauerland from the Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS), Andrea Martin from the Max Planck Institute of Psycholinguistics and Tom Griffiths Princeton University. With contributions from MPI Directors Antje Meyer and Peter Hagoort.

The Future of Linguistics

The directors of the Max Planck Institute in Nijmegen have identified the field of linguistics as the core area for the new department. Linguistics should in this case be construed broadly and include, for example, linguistic typology, theoretical linguistics, linguistic anthropology, computational linguistics, multimodal communication, language evolution. The aim of these webinars is to discuss in more detail what the promising developments are in the field of linguistics that should guide our search procedure.
